Exciting opportunities to join our Animal Care teaching team based in Plymouth City Centre.
IQA Salary: £23,000 per annum
Tutor/Assessor Salary: £21,500 per annum
Additional performance related bonus scheme up to £2,600pa
Hours: 34 per week
The Job Role:
We are seeking motivated candidates to deliver consistent, high quality vocational training in Animal Care / Land-Based Studies in line with prevailing qualification standards and, for the IQA level, to lead quality assurance activities as part of our assessment processes. In Plymouth City Centre, our lively department hosts a range of small animals and delivers training to learners from 16 to 60+. The Candidate:
- Qualified in Animal Care or similar to Level 3 or above;
- Current teaching/assessing qualifications and experience;
- Current quality assurance certification (IQA or equivalent), with proven ability to provide appropriate guidance to assessors;
- Have good organisational skills and able to prioritise effectively;
- Confident classroom delivery to learners from Level 1 to 3;
- Able to work independently and as part of the curriculum teaching team;
- Able to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with local schools and employers to promote ATL’s services.

Our standard full-time working week is 34 hours, usually Monday to Friday (although some flexibility may be required depending on the sector in which you work). Teaching staff also have the opportunity to access our performance related bonus scheme up to an additional £2,600pa.
